The desulfurized gas and steam are mixed in a certain ratio. The
mixture flows through reformer tubes where it is converted in the
presence of a catalyst to a synthesis gas consisting of hydrogen,
carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, unreacted methane and steam.
A heat exchange system is used as an economizer, while an inverter
is introduced to convert the monomixed carbon into additional
hydrogen and carbon dioxide. The resulting gas goes to a PSA unit
where the hydrogen is separated from other gases. PSA off-gas is
recovered as fuel.
